Fougasse 

Ingredients 

  • 10 grams yeast 
  • 350 ml hot water 
  • 400 g Čakovečki mlinovi fine flour 
  • 100 grams Čakovečki mlinovi coarse flour 
  • 10 grams salt 
  • olive oil 
  • Mediterranean herbs 

Preparation 

Dissolve the yeast in warm water, then add Čakovečki mlinovi fine and coarse flour and salt and knead the dough. Let it sit covered for about 1 hour. Divide the dough into 6 equal balls and roll each of them out. With a knife, make notches on the dough and slightly spread them out a bit using your fingers to resemble a leaf. 

Leave the cakes to rise for about fifteen minutes and, if desired, sprinkle them with Mediterranean herbs and spray them with olive oil. 

Bake at 180°C until browned, about 15 minutes.
